with more than 48,000 fans,the page provides a way for LCI to connect with its members during the course of their everyday activities.
Becca Pietrini.. a marketing assistant manager at LCI ,says "Lions may not seek out the LCI Web site on a daily basis...but they are web savvy, they are likely to be on Face book everyday.
That means posts about Lions projects or events automatically appear in the news feed when the page,s fans log into Face book , injecting information about the organization into their daily routine.
Petrini posts messages from President Wing Kun Tam, the photo of the week,and links to the LCI blog, among other Lions-related information

Melvin Jones ..The founder of Lions Clubs International ...
In 1917, 38 Year Old Chicago business leader, Melvin Jones told members of the local business club ..they should reach beyond business issues and address the betterment of their communities., and the world. Jones Group " The Business Circle of Chicago agreed. June 7, 1917 .. The New club was born.
The "Association of Lions clubs" within 3 years Lions became an International Organization .
In 1925 at a Lions Clubs International Convention in Cedar point Ohio USA Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become " Knights of the Blind'" in a crusade against darkness
Helen Keller named the LIONS...." Knights of the blind" ....light piercing the darkness. our function " To Light the way for those in darkness".The International Association of Lions Clubs began as the dream of Chicago businessman Melvin Jones ..Today " We Serve" continues represented by more volunteers in more places than any service club organization in the world.

.In Manhattan New York Financial District Lions Club Presidnt Terry Paladini Baumgarten and members are cooperating with Battery Park CERT by suypplying blankets and helping the local community who do not have electricity .. They bring a generator from Melville Long Island to the local facility November 19th, 2012. A loan from North Carolina Lions..

members in several countries Australia, UK , Malaysia, India ,The Netherlands, Japan, Russia, China, Korea,...To the Archbishop of New York Celebrities,and a large number of young people Leo Clubs from Several Countries..so many people who are not Lions tell me" Oh you lions do such good work " she says .
Building a network
.Club president Ingrid Leacock realized early on that if she wasgoing to build a solid following of Facebook fans, she had to make the club,s paqe about more than just the Lions activities. So in addition to postlions, pictures and events, she posts other feel-good storiesand photos,and initiates discussios about lighthearted topics suchas last April,s royal weddingof Prince William. She also welcomes posts from her face book friends
"I make it a consversation " she says " I let people know that I am interested in them. People want to be appreciated and get the word out there (about their interests)...I did that for them."

Guests Dick Traum President of the Achilles Track Club ( part of Road Runners) and York Road Runners appeared with Doctor Dr. John Seeder ..New York Eye and Ear Hospital
Dr John Seedor : New York Eye and Ear Hospital Dr Seeder successfully transplanted corneas to 3 Athletes. These Athletes formerly blind were able to run in the New York Road Runners Race.; The Big Apple Funds for the surgery were ..Made possible through a grant from Lions Clubs International Foundation.
Homeless Shelter
Other shows were filmed on Location at the Fifth Avenue Homeless Shelter in Harlem . The Director of the Center Sister Leontine O'Gorman a Sacred Heart Nun conducted a tour of the center. We were able to speak several residents who were very gratefrul for the assistancde some of them had families.
The Homeless persons were eager to speak on Camera and ask for help, . Sister Leontine O; Gorman also discussed the shortage of food ,clothing and basic essentials .
God,s Love We deliver.
Early one monring Ingrid Leacock Sid Hershman Bob Tompkins and a few other Lions visited the facilities of
" God,s Love We Deliver" Where meals were prepared by a group of volunteers. The meals were delivered to Home bound Aids patients . One recipient requested to be interviewed at his home. ..His story is heartwarming.
Dr M.C. Modi of India . A Lion Founded and operated "The Touring eye Hospital of India " .
Dr Modi is a member of Lions Clubs International . The Mobile hospital and the team of doctors travel to the villages in India . They set up camp and perform free eye surgery. The patients sleep in the camp overnight and receive food and other supplies from Rotary club International, WHO and several Corporations. Dr M.C. Modi is listed in the Guinness Book of world records.. he performed 838. eye surgery operations in one day.
